Illegal Pilgrims

This picture speaks volumes without the message on the poster actually saying very much. This is an interesting concept because it is not original at all (I have heard many people say it myself) but it is one of those things that people often do not say aloud or in public at all…and now we have a very public and well publicized account of it as well as the struggle for equality….what do you think?

  1. I love it. The fact that it looks to be a Native American who is holding the poster makes it more significant. I think most Americans, Whites more typically, forget their history when it comes to immigration. This land was not European owned. It was stripped from those who had already settled and rules and regulations were out forth to ensure rich, White men stayed in power. If anybody is “illegal,” it is us.

  2. Very good point! It is fascinating how we have gone as a country even thinking about immigration laws and “reforms” to “protect” a land that was built for immigration and migration.

    • I think one of the major issues is that this is not a country who’s law maker’s appeal to its constituents intellects, but stokes their fears.
