Is it simply a matter of making education more attractive to potential educators and administrators? I think that the negative press, the pay and more than anything, the parents are enough to discourage most people from the noble pursuit of education.
I agree, and feel like the idea of educators having more ownership in their work would make it more attractive as well. Decisions are made from the top down (like many other industries), but because the work tends to take a more human approach that should be more flexible because you are directly serving a population that is not homogenous, it makes it less attractive to have set standards across the board
