Voting law in Texas gets voted down.

Federal Judge Rejects Texas Voter Law
Some of you may not know this, but politics is in everything. another thing you might not know that that when you don’t vote Republicans win, because they are deeply vested in their self interest and they recognize the power of the vote, so they all go vote and they vote for themselves. The more they can convince you to vote for them, the better it is, but also just as effective is if they can make democrats looks so bad that you care not for the process itself, like 50% of the eligible voters.

WASHINGTON – A federal judicial panel on Thursday blocked the Texas voter ID law passed by the Republican Legislature, saying the new restrictions would place an unfair burden on Latinos, racial minorities and the poor. Another federal panel threw out a Texas redistricting plan earlier this week, saying the Republican leadership failed to show the maps did not discriminate against minorities. The state Legislature passed the voter ID law in 2011 over objections from Latino groups who sided with the Justice Department in the lawsuit brought by the state when Justice denied preclearance of the new Texas voting rules.

These assholes want to take your vote away so they can win. They realize that you have the right to vote, and it probably wont be for them so they want to take away your opportunity vote. If you can’t win with equal odds, then rig the game, right Republicans?

Open source text books in Cali

As we have mentioned before we are in favor of open source text books, and it looks like the state of California is too. This is a bold step that is surely going to be a win for students, since no one seems to be able to control the cost of tuition…

Friday, the California State Senate unanimously passed the first of its kind open educational resource digital library, or (OER), offering students free access to textbooks in the most commonly taken lower-division courses at public postsecondary institutions.
